22 years ago, Mary Winchester was killed in a house fire that had started in her son’s nursery. Her husband, John, found her stuck to the ceiling, abdomen ripped wide open, before she was engulfed in flames. Luckily, John was able to get himself and his two sons, Dean and Sam, out of the house in one piece. Bent on revenge, John went made with rage and became a hunter, moving around the country with Sam and Dean, looking for whatever it was that killed his wife. Along the way, they met a plethora of Supernatural beings, and Dean and Sam quickly grew up in the lives of hunters.
Now, Sam and Dean are on the road again, saving people and hunting the things that go bump in the night. Along the way they discover there’s a lot more out there than just monsters and that no matter what you do, you can’t stop your destiny from catching up with you. They met great allies, and made even greater enemies, but no matter what happened they always had each other. Together the Winchester boys face death and all of hell to get the answers they’ve been looking for. And somehow, someway, they always manage to come out alive, even if it is just barely.

HUMANS – Most of these people go through life without knowing about the supernatural world that coexists with their own. Some however know there are things out there, but are unable to uproot their life to become a hunter.
HUNTERS – These people hunt down and get rid of supernatural beings in order to keep the world safe.
PROPHETS – These lucky people have been chosen by God to be able to read his word. They are able to hear Angels as well as read God’s Tablets. Some are even able to see the future. However, only one prophet is able to exist at a time.
ANGELS – The celestial beings that reside in Heaven. There are different kinds of angels that include Arch Angels and Fallen Angels.
DEMONS – Demons are the nasty beings that live in hell. More often than no demons have black eyes, but Crossroads demons have red eyes. These guys love causing chaos and fear wherever they go.
AZAZEL’S CHILDREN – These were the children that Azazel had chosen to give his blood to in order to create his own army. Because of the demon blood that coursed through these kids’ veins, many came to have strange powers once they became a certain age.
PURGATORY NATIVES – These beings are others that have lived in purgatory for quite a time, but have managed to cross back into their world, which happens to be quite a feat for most of these beings.
LEVIATHAN – These bad boys are the oldest beings in Purgatory, locked away there after the massive destruction that they caused. They can shape-shift into anyone they want and feed on human flesh. The only way to tell if someone is one is if they let you see their true face, or if they bleed black goo.
HORSEMEN – The four horseman of the apocalypse; Pestilence, Famine, War, and Death.
OTHER BEINGS – Any of the other Supernatural beings that you can think of. These include Gods, Deities, Vampires, Werewolves, Shape-shifters, Ghosts, Ghouls, and plenty of others that may walk the earth. (If you’re choosing this group, please let us know what kind of creature you are!!)

So I’m fairly certain that this isn’t all of the canons ever on the show. Just some of the most prominent ones.
