After waking up from a coma after being shot, small town sheriff Rick Grimes wakes up in a nightmare. The hospital that he had been staying in was empty except for the walking dead. Still wounded and groggy from the medication he breaks out of the hospital to find his wife and son. Arriving at his house, he finds it ransacked and his wife and son missing. As he leaves, the medication makes it hard for him to move much and he collapses. A young boy and his son find him and help patch him up, keeping him there until he regains his strength. Once he does, he heads to Atlanta to hopefully find his family or any other survivors that may be out there. When he finds a group he stays with them, eventually becoming their leader. Rick does everything in his power to protect his people and ends up helping them survive in a world where more and more people are turning their backs on each other.

RICK’S GROUP – One of the most accomplished groups of survivors in the apocalypse. Lead by Rick Grimes, this group is very close knit and will protect each other by any means necessary. In order to gain entry and the beginning of acceptance to the group, an outsider needs to answer 3 questions… “How many walkers have you killed?”, “Have you killed the living?”, “Why?”
WOODBURY – A small town overseen by Brian Blake, otherwise known as The Governor, who knows just about everything that goes on under his watch. Although he seems all warm and fluffy on the outside the Governor hides a dark secret; he keeps the heads of the walkers he’s killed in tanks and his dead daughter chained up in an extra room. When Rick’s group turns up in Woodbury everything goes wrong, and the Governor completely loses control, making it his personal mission to destroy Rick and his entire group.
GRADY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL – A small group still left in Atlanta who were waiting for military to evacuate the hospital but never happened. They have their own hierarchy and way of doing things there. Everyone chips in and does their part. They help the people they can and in return the patients have to pull their own weight.
TERMINUS – The Terminus group actually isn’t nearly as friendly as they’d like to make themselves. Other groups that have come to Terminus seeking shelter and other survivors end up becoming dinner.
ALEXANDRIA – Run by Deanna and her family, Alexandria is a safe-haven for those who reside. Residents are chosen by Deanna herself. The wall around the houses has kept those inside perfectly safe and sheltered from the world outside.
WANDERING SURVIVORS – These people are wandering by themselves for the most part and have been doing just fine on their own. They don’t belong to any groups and do what they need to to survive in the apocalypse.
